in for a shock!
We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming a little girl in February. The "Boys" will soon be invaded by bows and clothes and shoes of course. Let the shopping begin.
(of course with two older brothers and a tom-boyish mom, she might be better off trading the bows and dresses in for sneakers and sport shorts. -- but don't tell that to the grandmas)
Let the countdown begin...........

Labor Day Extravaganza!
Happy Birthday Daddy!
To start the festivities, Daddy turned 3o! We had a great low-key family dinner complete with a cake made by grandma! Then we celebrated with friends on Saturday!
Happy Birthday -- We love you so much!
Mommy is glad she has been able to spend the last decade in your life. She loves you and looks forward to the many decades to come!

Braxton and Baeden are the certified candle blowers. There hasn't been a cake in the last 6 years that they haven't helped blow out.Daddy had fun with the guys playing shuffleboard and bean bags.

The Fair Grounds were booming this weekend as well. We took the boys to celebrate with the family. We went ahead and splurged on the "all you can ride" bracelets and we easily made our money back making two trips around the fair!

The 50 foot slide was the biggest hit! Braxton and Baeden went up and down it about 15 times each! That paid for the bracelet. I wish we had one of these in our back yard. Awesome!

We wrapped up the weekend with the Labor Day Party at the Country Club!
The boys were pros at the soda and ring pop dive getting them prepared for the adult beverage dive to come in a few years.
The Burdick Famly now holds a personal record (and probably club record) of 2.5 cases of adult drinks. The final count was 42! We might be banned in future contests?!?!?

We are so lucky to have such a close family and a large one at that. The holidays are never dull and we are truly blessed with a great family bond! This was an exciting weekend and we are still resting from the festivities.
Just a few more days till the next celebration --
Braxton turns 6 in a week!

Back to School
He started kindergarten this year. I have never been more proud of him.
We are a "Bowen Bear"! Fits our cute and cuddley personality!
Bless this woman -- 16 five-and-six year olds!
Braxton was so excited to enter his new classroom and spend his first day with his new teacher. We were so excited too! We had quite and interesting experience with a not-so-qualified pre-k teacher last year. Our kindergarten teacher is already on top of it. She called me the first day afterschool to tell us how great Braxton's day was and made sure we had no concerns.

Its been a wonderful first week (minus the fact that school lunches now cost $3 a pop)! Braxton has had so much fun and has been very well behaved. He made me a puzzle the first day in art and makes sure he has a snack in his back pack ready every morning. He is probably the only kinder eating a full sandwich and a fruit cup as a snack! Brain Food.
Oh my big boy is growing up so FAST. Every day has been an adventure I wish I could rewind. Thank you Braxton for blessing my life in so many wonderful ways. You made me a mommy which has proven to be the best time of my life. I love you!
And not to forget the smallest burdick boy, Baeden is also going to a new school this year. He was so excited to find his cubby and hug his new teacher!

Every morning Baed gets to report to the playground. I wish that is how we all started our day with an hour on the playground. He is so excited about starting school. He is my little nerd. He loves being teacher's pet, answering all the questions, and most of it comes really easy to him. I know one day, this blessing will get him in some trouble. He will be that kid that finishes his assignment in 10 minutes and then spends the next 50 minutes being the class clown.

Baeden is such a character and he is my little superHERO! He has such a big heart and melts mine with every smile and set of CRAZY EYES! His laugh is infectious and he keeps me from getting too uptight at times. I love that little laugh and those crazy eyes, and the little boy they come from even more.

Baeden Turns 3!
We celebrated with family and friends at a local bounce house.
Baeden's best buddies from school came -- Owen and Shelby, along with his cousins -- Holt, Brandon, Crystal, Halley and Baby Teal. For the third year in a row the theme was Spiderman. We just can't seem to out grow our infatuation with superheroes.

Baeden loves to be sung to. He will sit so contently and listen to each and every word of "Happy birthday to you!" Then its time to blow out the candles.

still loves spiderman -- Baeden is wearing the full spiderman gear daily and occasionally switch it up with batman or ninja turtles. (mommy swore she would never be one of those moms that takes their kid out in public dressed in costume, but we can't count the times we have webbed our way thru Wal-mart, Bealls, the park!)
gigantic imagination -- Baeden can sit for hours and play with "bad guys" waging war after war. Spiderman and Batman and even Heman have joined forces to take on the evil of society.
detailed oriented -- Baeden is the first to notice a change, compliment his mommy and how "wonderful" she is looking, or find the smallest speck of dirt on the floor.
eats anything and everything -- Baeden is not a picky eater, and he will put non-edibles in his mouth just as much. He has drank Pinesol, eaten deodorant, styrofoam, the wrapper of an icecream sandwich, dirt, sand, etc. Mommy CANNOT leave him alone anywhere for fear that he will eat something weird.
