Braxton Turns 5

Dear Braxton,
Time has flown by! You have grown up to be quite the little man.
You are so smart, so witty, so curious.
I adore your big blue eyes and the light that shines through them.
You are growing so fast and learning so much.
I cherish every moment we spend and all our adventures.
You are my hero and have a love of life that I find irresistable.
I love you with all my heart and more.
Happy 5th Birthday!
Love, Mommy

First Day of School

Braxton is officially a Preschooler. Baeden is in the 2-yr-old class. WOW time flies.
Brax has made a great transition to Pre-K. He was so excited to start school that he practiced writing his name the day before. He wanted to make sure that he could write his name on his paper so the teacher didnt have to do it for him. When Mommy went to pick him up, his new teacher said he was still practicing writing his name all day because he was afraid he wouldn't know how. He was apparently pretty stressed out over the name thing.
Baeden cried all day the first day and the second and the third.... and the fourth. He had to be removed during nap time so the other kids could sleep. As flattering as it may be to know that your baby is crying for you, it broke my heart the he wasn't adjusting. The second week was much better however. He likes to read books in the morning, so we get him started on a good book and then try to sneak out of the room.
As much as Mommy hates writing a check to daycare every month (which is basically a second mortgage), she is just not ready for her little boys to be so grown up. Next year Brax will start "real school", so this is our last year to enjoy the freedoms that come with daycare.

The Bowling Burdick Boys

This was our first trip to the lanes as a family. Braxton and Baeden had an absolute blast. Brax manages to put some weird spin on the ball and somehow it works for him... He did better than Mommy did! Baeden weighed less than the ball he was trying to use but he still managed to get it down the lane a few times. He had more fun people watching in his sunglasses which he kept on his head the entire time.
